Where we develop Master Playwrights & Masterworks 

We have a goal to create new Canadian classics by and about underrepresented voices that are produced on world stages and which shape how the world views marginalized stories and people

Under the Writer’s Block  umbrella, Prime Mover Theatre Company’s  three-pronged new works development program will excite international producers by creating inspiring, inventive, relevant multi-disciplinary works by the most exciting underrepresented voices.

The Story Lab will teach a six-week Intro to Scriptwriting/Story Creation course for novice artists.

The Playwrights Unit will continue working with emerging and established playwrights and expand to include other types of story creators including hip hop artists, composers, lyricists, choreographers, content creator/influencers 

The Legacy Commission will work with one playwright/story creator from concept to production over a three year term to create, develop, and premiere one new work per season.
