is a Jamaican-Canadian composer, conductor and educator with more than 15 years experience in classical music and musical theatre in Asia; a pioneer of Taiwan’s vibrant musical theatre industry.

Ted Runcie has been active for more than 15 years in Taiwan as a conductor, composer and educator. He held the post of Music Director of the Hsinchu Philharmonic Orchestra in Taiwan
and also of the Hsinchu Philharmonic Youth Orchestra from 2010 to 2014 and co-founded the Mazer Youth Orchestra in Taipei in honour of Henry Mazer former Assistant Conductor of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
In Taiwan, Runcie conducted Broadway musicals in Taiwan's National Theatre - notably as Music Director for the Taiwan premieres of “Smokey Joe’s Cafe” and “Anything Goes” - coached young instrumentalists and musical theatre performers such as the IMCF International music camp of Taiwan.
Runcie also taught music at Yuteh High School and lectured at Chang Gung university.
Runcie’s compositions have been performed by musicians and ensembles in North America, Europe and Asia.
